Sometimes I wonder what you’re doing,

how you’re doing

and if you ever think of me

and then I realize

you don’t care

you won’t care

you never cared

and I realize

the weight of the word “never”

in “I’d never do that to you”

was, to me,

a giant boulder

teetering on the edge of a rocky cliff

but as light as a feather to you

and it hurts

every part of me hurts

because I would’ve done anything,

said anything,

that would make you want me

as much as I wanted you

but you didn’t

you never did

and you never will.
